JUST IN: APC WINS 20 LGAS IN RIVERS COUNCIL POLLS, PDP SECURES THREE

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has emerged victorious in 20 out of 23 local government areas in the chairmanship and councillorship elections held on Saturday across Rivers State.
The ruling party in the state, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), secured only three LGAs in the poll conducted by the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC).
Notably, Governor Siminalayi Fubara lost his Opobo-Nkoro Local Government Area to the APC, the main opposition party in the state.
Announcing the results on Sunday at the Commission’s headquarters along Aba Road in Port Harcourt, RSIEC Chairman, Dr Michael Odey, declared the APC as the dominant winner of the exercise.
