FANS AWAIT HILDA BACI’S JOLLOF RICE IN EXCITEMENT

Supporters, admirers, media personnel, and food vendors have assembled at the Eko Hotels and Suites in Lagos for Nigerian Chef Hilda Baci’s endeavor to establish a Guinness World Record for the Largest Pot of Jollof Rice.
A gathering awaited access to the venue prior to 8:30 a.m., and attendees were permitted entry at 9:20 a.m.
As of 1:30 p.m., the culinary process had yet to commence.

Baci previously announced that over 20,000 individuals registered to participate in the occasion.
The chef aims to prepare 250 bags of rice in an enormous 22,619-litre pot.
The atmosphere was jubilant as food vendors had already arranged their stalls, presenting popular Nigerian cuisines, snacks, and beverages from various cultural backgrounds.
Content creators and influencers navigated the venue, which had transformed into a miniature food fair, capturing the excitement of the crowd with cameras and mobile devices.
The audience became increasingly animated when the music commenced at 12:56 p.m., with many attendees observed dancing.
Security personnel and paramedics were strategically positioned throughout the venue to uphold order and ensure safety during the event.
Nigerian actor, Charles Bond, expressed his enthusiasm for witnessing Baci make another piece of history.
According to Bond, he is the chef’s acquaintance and recognizes her as a determined individual.
“I’m really excited for my friend and one thing about Hilda is that once she’s convinced about something, she does it.
“I love the energy I’m seeing. Everybody is excited. Everybody is waiting.
“People are eating. Our food is getting more attention,” he said.
Blessing Okechukwu, the Creative Director at BAT Events and Chops, voiced her excitement about being part of what she characterized as a landmark occasion.
Okechukwu, one of the vendors, mentioned that it represented more than just Jollof Rice for her; it was a matter of pride to share a taste of Nigeria’s unity and vibrancy with the world.
Baci, who gained international recognition with her Guinness World Record titled ‘Cook-a-thon’ in 2023, aspires to augment her culinary accomplishments with this attempt.
Jollof rice is a dish frequently linked to cultural pride for nations including Nigeria and Ghana.
