HOTJIST NEWS The Peoples Democratic Party group supported by Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has declared that Tuesday, November 18, 2025, will be the date of an emergency meeting of the party's National Executive Committee and Board of Trustees. Both sessions are set to take place at the NEC Hall of the PDP National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Abuja, according to a notice posted on his X handle by the media assistant to the FCT minister, Lere Olayinka, and issued on Monday by the factional National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu. As previously reported by HOTJIST NEWS, the PDP expelled a number of prominent members for alleged anti-party activities on Saturday at its 2025 National Convention in Ibadan, Oyo State. These members included Wike, Anyanwu, former National Legal Adviser Kamaldeen Ajibade, former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose, Imo PDP Chairman Austin Nwachukwu, and others. Former PDP Deputy National Chairman (South) Bode George made the proposal to expel them, and Bauchi State PDP Chairman Samaila Buga seconded it. The resolution was then put to a voice vote by Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, who also serves as the chair of the PDP Governors' Forum. Delegates overwhelmingly supported it, demonstrating the party's determination to address internal dissension and anti-party behavior inside its ranks.

FEDERAL HIGH COURT COMMENCE CHRISTMAS VACATION DECEMBER 19TH
AGENCY REPORT According to the News Agency of Nigeria, the Federal High Court will begin its Christmas break on December 19. Court sessions will resume in all judicial divisions on January 7, 2026, according to a statement released Monday in Abuja by Dr. Catherine Christopher, the FHC's Director of Information. "On December 19, the court will begin its 2025 Christmas Vacation. Order 46, Rule 4(c) of the Federal High Court (Civil Procedure) Rules, 2019 (as amended) provides the basis for this vacation schedule. On January 7, 2026, court sessions will resume in all judicial divisions. "The main judicial divisions Abuja, Lagos, and Port Harcourt will continue to function and be available to the litigating public throughout the vacation." She asserts that the vacation judges will only consider cases that involve the arrest or release of vessels, the enforcement of fundamental rights, and concerns of immediate national interest. Christopher stated that Justice Akintayo Aluko and Justice Isaac Dipeolu would preside over the Lagos Division, while Justice Emeka Nwite and Justice Musa Liman would act as vacation judges for the Abuja Division. She stated that Justice Folashade Giwa-Ogunbanjo would serve as the vacation judge at the Enugu Judicial Division, while Justices P. M. Ayua and A. T. Mohammed would sit at the Port Harcourt Division. "The Chief Justice, Hon. John T. Tsoho, KSS, OFR, FCIArb, Justice. (UK), wishes all Honourable Judges a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year," she said in closing. POLICE REFUTE NAVAL OFFICER IN FACE-OFF WITH WIKE ASSASINATION ATTEMPT
HOTJIST NEWS The FCT Police Command has reacted to the trailing of Lieutenant AM Yarima by unidentified persons in two unmarked Hilux vans in Kubwa on Sunday evening, with the officer conducting escape manoeuvres to lose them. According to military officials, an investigation is underway into the incident in which the drivers of the vehicles followed Yarima from the NIPCO Station off the Kubwa Motorway to Gado Nasco Road. SP Josephine Adeh, the police command spokesperson, responded to the report by saying, "The FCT Police Command has been alerted to social media postings that claim Lt. Ahmed Yerima was the victim of an attempted assassination. The Command would like to make it clear that no such occurrence has ever been documented or reported in the Federal Capital Territory. The public is urged to ignore this misleading information and refrain from disseminating unsubstantiated statements that could incite needless fear. "The Command encourages the people to be on guard and report any suspicious behavior to the closest Police Division for the protection of all inhabitants."
