The Jigawa State Hajj Welfare Board has announced that all intending pilgrims from the state have successfully completed their mandatory medical screening ahead of the 2026 Hajj in Mecca.
The Director-General of the board, Ahmad Labbo, disclosed this while briefing journalists on Saturday in his office regarding preparations for the exercise.
“We are happy to announce that the Jigawa State Hajj Welfare Board has successfully concluded the medical screening of its intending pilgrims in preparation for the 2026 Hajj in Mecca,” he said.
Labbo confirmed that the medical team conducted thorough screenings and that all pilgrims met the required health standards, in line with directives from the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria.
“The medical team did a great job, and we are pleased to confirm that all our pilgrims are healthy and fit for the Hajj,” Labbo added.
He noted that the board covered the full cost of the medical screening, ensuring that no pilgrim was required to pay.
The Director-General expressed gratitude to the Governor of Jigawa State, Umar Namadi, saying, “We appreciate the governor’s support and commitment to ensuring our pilgrims have a smooth and successful Hajj experience.”
Labbo emphasised that the board is working to ensure all logistical arrangements are in place ahead of the pilgrims’ departure.
He also urged intending pilgrims to continue preparing spiritually and physically for the journey and to strictly adhere to the guidelines issued by the board.
“The Jigawa State Hajj Welfare Board is committed to ensuring a safe and successful Hajj experience for all pilgrims,” he said, assuring that the board would provide regular updates on preparations and other relevant information.
On January 28, it was reported that the Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board had commenced the medical screening for intending pilgrims as preparations intensified for the 2026 Hajj exercise, expected to attract millions of pilgrims from across the globe.
