The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested two constable candidates at the Police Training School Bauchi for allegedly submitting forged certificates during the ongoing recruitment exercise.
The command’s Police Public Relations Officer, Nafiu Habib, disclosed in a statement on Friday that the screening, led by A.Y. Dickson, examined a total of 403 candidates, comprising 354 applicants for general duty and 49 specialists.
Habib said the two arrested candidates were found to possess fraudulent results from the National Examinations Council (NECO). “Two candidates were arrested with forged NECO results, both named Yusuf Usman, and they were moving together throughout the process,” he stated.
The suspects have been handed over to the Divisional Police Officer of ‘E’ Division for further investigation, the spokesperson added.
Habib also cautioned applicants against engaging in fraudulent practices during recruitment, noting that the screening is part of a nationwide effort to recruit 50,000 police constables, which commenced on Monday.
