Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has reiterated his administration’s steadfast dedication to the well-being, security, and advancement of participants in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) stationed in the state.
The governor gave the assurance through the NYSC State Coordinator, Mrs. Kuburat Omowumi Bakare, during the closing ceremony of the 2025 Batch ‘B’ Stream 1 Orientation Course, held on Tuesday at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Ikare-Akoko.
Aiyedatiwa underscored that the state administration remains committed to youth empowerment and fostering a supportive atmosphere for corps members to serve and contribute constructively.
“We guarantee you a serene and favorable environment to fulfill your national service and make significant contributions,” he stated.
He encouraged corps members to remain law-abiding, vigilant regarding security, and to act in ways that reflect positively on their families, institutions, and the NYSC program.
The governor reminded the new corps members that they are representatives of peace, unity, and progress, and urged them to uphold this duty.
He further advised them to let their behavior embody the principles instilled in them during the orientation program by being proactive, embracing their host communities, identifying areas of need, and supporting community development efforts.
“By doing so, you will not only leave a positive legacy but also foster national unity and integration,” Aiyedatiwa expressed.
He also encouraged corps members to fully leverage the NYSC’s Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) program and to pursue initiatives that would enhance self-sufficiency after their service year.
Aiyedatiwa called on community leaders and stakeholders to continue supporting corps members by providing a safe and welcoming environment.
