TINUBU ATTENDS 15TH APC NEC MEETING AT STATE HOUSE, DEFECTING PDP GOVERNORS IN ATTENDANCE

President Bola Tinubu on Friday attended the 15th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the State House Conference Centre, Abuja.
The meeting began at about 6:05 p.m. with the arrival of the President and marked the party’s second NEC gathering in 2025, following an earlier session held in February. It was also the first NEC meeting since Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda emerged as the national chairman of the APC in July.
The session opened with a Christian prayer led by the Governor of Taraba State, Kefas Agbu. The meeting followed the recent rescheduling of the APC’s National Caucus and NEC meetings from December 15–16 to December 18–19, with the NEC session held at the Presidential Villa.
Several governors and top party leaders were sighted at the venue, including serving and former APC governors, as well as principal officers of the National Assembly.
Notably, six governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who recently defected to the APC were also present. They include Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah, Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri, Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno, and Taraba State Governor Kefas Agbu.
The APC NEC is the party’s highest decision-making body between national conventions. It brings together the President, Vice President, national chairman, members of the National Working Committee, governors, and other key stakeholders to take binding decisions on party administration, policy direction, and preparations for future elections.
