LAGOS POLICE SMASH CAR THEFT SYNDICATE, RECOVER STOLEN TOYOTA HIACE BUS

The Lagos State Police Command has dismantled a car theft syndicate, arresting four suspects and recovering a stolen Toyota Hiace bus.
Spokesman of the Command, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed this in a statement issued on Sunday, August 31, 2025.
According to the statement, detectives from the Command’s Tactical Team in Isheri acted on a report received on August 1 regarding the theft of a Toyota Hiace bus. The principal suspect, Salisu Ibrahim Abdullahi, 31, was tracked down and arrested in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. No
Further investigation led to the arrest of three accomplices in Kano State: Yenusa Salihu, 45, a mechanic; Baba Jero Idris, 49, a car dealer; and Abdullahi Aliyu, 41, a businessman. The stolen grey Toyota Hiace bus was also recovered in Kano during the operation.
The statement added that the suspects will be charged to court upon conclusion of investigations.
Commending the operatives for their swift and intelligence-led approach, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olohundare Jimoh, assured residents and visitors that the Command would continue to deploy cutting-edge strategies to curb vehicle theft and other criminal activities in the state.
