The Lagos State Police Command has ordered intensified security operations along the Mile 12–Ketu axis following reports of robbery attacks on motorists circulating on social media.
An X user, @lollypeezle, on Monday alleged that armed youths were attacking vehicles around Mile 12, claiming some suspects attempted to force open car doors with cutlasses despite the presence of two police stations in the area.
Reacting via her official X handle, the Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Adebisi, said the Commissioner of Police had directed immediate action.
“The Commissioner of Police has directed the Area Commander, the DPO, and the Tactical Team responsible for the area to step up efforts in securing their jurisdiction and preventing further incidents,” she stated.
The command urged residents and motorists to promptly report suspicious activities or emergencies through its dedicated helplines to enable swift response by security personnel.
Members of the public were advised to call 07061019374, 08065154338, 08063299264, 08039344870, or 09168630929 in the event of any security threat.
Police assured that proactive measures are being implemented to restore confidence and ensure the safety of commuters along the affected corridor.
