The Anambra State Police Command is tackling an alarming surge in criminal activity with remarkable speed and coordination, as evidenced in a chilling string of incidents disclosed in a press release issued on July 6, 2025, by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga.

In a deeply disturbing discovery, officers from the Awada Police Station, working in conjunction with local vigilante operatives, arrested a 25-year-old man, Samuel Eze, found in possession of a human breast. The arrest occurred during a routine patrol at about 3:30 p.m. on July 6 along Jude Onyekwere Street in Awada, Obosi. Authorities have preserved the recovered body part in a morgue, and the suspect is currently undergoing intensive interrogation.

In another development that unfolded just days earlier, on July 4 at 12:45 p.m., the state’s Rapid Response Squad successfully rescued a kidnapped truck driver and recovered a truckload of custard powder valued at N9.5 million. The suspects, Udegenyi Ugochukwu (38), Anayochukwu Okonkwo (47), and Good Odigili (47), were arrested and reportedly confessed to abducting the driver and diverting the consignment to Enugwu Ukwu. The goods were originally bound for a warehouse in Asaba, Delta State.

Additionally, on July 5 at around 4:30 p.m., operatives from the Obosi Division recovered an abandoned Toyota Sienna van, custom-painted and bearing the inscription “*Forum of Accountants Delta State*.” The vehicle, with registration number 736 JP, was found along Okpuno – Umuota Village in Obosi.

The police command is urging anyone with valid claims of ownership to come forward with proof for verification and possible retrieval of the vehicle.

SP Ikenga emphasized that the Anambra State Police Command, in collaboration with military and paramilitary forces including the Civil Defence, Immigration Service, DSS, and Anambra Vigilante Groups, remains resolute in its commitment to public safety.

“These joint security operations will continue across the state to root out criminal elements and restore peace and order,” the statement affirmed.
