LAGOS CP HOLDS STRATEGIC SECURITY MEETING, TASKS OFFICERS ON PROACTIVE POLICING AS LSSTF DONATES PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, has convened a strategic security meeting with senior officers across the state to strengthen operational readiness and reinforce proactive policing measures.
The meeting, held on Thursday, brought together Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), Commanders of the Police Mobile Force (PMF), and Tactical Commanders to assess the prevailing security situation and review strategies aimed at maintaining public safety across Lagos.
Addressing the officers, the Commissioner charged them to remain proactive, vigilant, and fully committed to their operational responsibilities. He stressed the importance of sustained intelligence gathering, close supervision of personnel, and swift responses to emerging security threats within their respective Areas of Responsibility.
CP Fatai also urged commanders to uphold professionalism and ensure that operational standards and discipline are effectively cascaded to officers at the grassroots level.
In a major boost to the Command’s operational capacity, the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) donated 200 bulletproof helmets and 200 bulletproof vests to support policing operations and improve officer safety.
The protective equipment was formally presented to the Commissioner by the Executive Secretary of the LSSTF, Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan, who reiterated the organisation’s commitment to supporting security agencies with the resources needed to protect lives and property.
Receiving the items, the Commissioner expressed appreciation to the LSSTF for its continued partnership and investment in strengthening security infrastructure within the state.
According to him, the equipment will improve operational effectiveness, enhance officer protection, and boost morale among personnel engaged in frontline and critical security assignments.
CP Fatai also commended residents of Lagos State for their continued cooperation and support in maintaining peace and security.
He acknowledged the role of citizens in providing timely and useful information to security agencies, noting that public collaboration has contributed significantly to the Command’s achievements.
The Police Commissioner appealed for sustained cooperation from all stakeholders as the Command intensifies efforts to combat crime and improve public safety across Lagos.
