KWARA GOVERNOR PLEDGES BRAND-NEW VEHICLES FOR NEW ILORIN CHIEF IMAM

Kwara State Governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, has pledged to provide brand-new official vehicles for the newly appointed Chief Imam of Ilorin Emirate, Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Dasuki Imam Fulani.
The governor made the commitment during a courtesy visit to the cleric in Ilorin on Tuesday, where he also sought prayers for peace, stability, and continued development in Kwara State.
Details of the visit were shared via the official Facebook page of the Kwara State Government and seen by The Media on Wednesday.
Abdulrazaq was accompanied by the Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Lawal Olohungbe, along with other senior government officials and political stakeholders who joined in congratulating the new Chief Imam on his appointment.

He described the emergence of the young Islamic scholar as a significant milestone for the Ilorin Emirate, noting that it reflects continuity, inclusiveness, and unity within the Muslim community.
Reaffirming his administrationās support for religious leadership, the governor restated government backing for the office of the Chief Imam.
āWe are fully behind you in this responsibility. The government will provide a brand-new Jeep and a bus to support your movement and duties,ā he said.
He further described Sheikh Dasukiās appointment as part of efforts to strengthen unity across generations within the Muslim Ummah in Kwara State.
āThe emergence of a young and vibrant Azhari scholar as the new Chief Imam reflects our commitment to unity, development and inclusiveness,ā he added.
Abdulrazaq also offered prayers for divine guidance, protection, and long life for the new Chief Imam, urging residents of Ilorin Emirate and Kwara State to support him in the discharge of his spiritual duties.
āI pray that Allah guides and protects him, perfects His blessings upon him, and grants him good health and long life in service to the Ummah. I also urge everyone to support him in this noble responsibility,ā he said.
The appointment of 42-year-old Imam Fulani as the 13th Chief Imam of Ilorin Emirate was earlier announced on June 10 by Abdulraheem Muritala, Personal Assistant to the Emir of Ilorin, Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari.
Following the announcement, the governor had congratulated the Emir, describing the selection as a reflection of wise leadership and careful consideration within the Emirateās traditional and spiritual structure.
Meanwhile, Islamic scholars, including the First Ubandoma of Ilorin Emirate, Sheikh Abdulkadir Oba Sholagberu, and Sheikh Sohibul Bayan, commended the governor for his continued support for religious institutions and leaders in the state.
