RONALDO SET TO MISS SECOND AL NASSR MATCH AMID ONGOING STRIKE

Cristiano Ronaldo will miss a second consecutive Al Nassr match after being left out of the matchday squad for Friday’s Saudi Pro League clash against Al Ittihad.
The 41-year-old returned to training with his teammates earlier this week but was not included in the squad selected by manager Jorge Jesus.
According to Saudi Pro League officials, Ronaldo’s ongoing protest is tarnishing the image of both the league and the Kingdom’s sovereign wealth fund. The SPL publicly warned the forward ahead of Friday’s fixture, urging him to return to action after he sat out Al Nassr’s game against Al Riyadh on Monday.

Ronaldo reportedly believes that Al Nassr is not receiving the same financial backing as their title rivals, Al Hilal, despite both clubs being majority-owned by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF). His frustration reportedly intensified after Al Hilal strengthened their squad during the January transfer window, including the acquisition of Karim Benzema.
Saudi officials have expressed surprise at Ronaldo’s discontent, given his status as the league’s marquee player and his reported daily earnings of £500,000. The Portuguese superstar has 18 months remaining on his contract, which includes a £43 million (€50 million) summer release clause, despite having turned 41 on Thursday.
