IRAN STILL HAS 21–22% OF MISSILE CAPACITY, TRUMP CLAIMS AMID RISING REGIONAL TENSIONS
Agency Report

United States President Donald Trump has said Iran still retains about “21 to 22 per cent” of its missile capacity, despite recent military exchanges in the region and a fragile ceasefire.
Speaking in an interview with NBC News on Friday, Trump stated that Iran continues to maintain operational missile and drone capabilities following days of reported launches toward neighbouring countries.
“They still have capacity. They have some missiles, they have some drones. I would say, percentage wise, maybe 21, 22 percent of their missiles,” Trump said.
The figure marks an increase from an earlier estimate of 18 per cent given by the US president in May. Trump has previously claimed that Iran’s war-fighting capability had been completely destroyed, though recent developments appear to contradict that position.
Tensions in the region have remained high, with Iran’s military reportedly claiming it fired “warning missiles” at two US destroyers in the Gulf of Oman—an assertion the United States military has denied.
Earlier in the week, Kuwait also reported intercepting 30 ballistic missiles allegedly launched during what it described as “heinous Iranian aggression,” further underscoring ongoing security concerns across the Gulf region despite ceasefire efforts.
